Rehabilitating priority coastal & inland areas

Location: West Midlands coast and shire gravel pits near Dandaragan and Badgingarra.

Project Start Date: December 2013

Project End Date: March 2015

Project Aim: The aim of this project is to continue to work with community groups, to further revegetate another six eroded sites and to coordinate three public forums to show case this work to the boarder community, in the West Midlands region.
This will be achieved by planting 6,000 local native seedlings, erecting informative visitor signage and sharing project learning’s and successes during forums. These sites will increase the extent of native habitat available to wildlife, in particular the endangered Black Carnaby Cockatoo.  The importance of planting local provenance seedlings will be voiced through media articles and the West Midland Group website and facebook page.
