Protecting Vegetation in Dandaragan Shire

Location: Dandaragan, WA


Project Start Date: July 2011


Project End Date: June 2012


Project Aim: The West Midlands Group will work with farmers, John and Emma Scotney to:


  • Erect 7.6km of fencing to create a wildlife corridor linking two areas of remnant vegetation (road reserve and an area of remnant on private land) to protect 36ha remnant bush


  • Create a voluntary site management agreement detailing short and long term measures to actively conserve the site


  • Establish photo monitoring stations for the site and take the first set of photos in order to provide baseline photographic data


  • Publicise results achieved in local and regional media.
